25 Things About Me...
Since this can be amusing (and wasn't sent with an implied threat of bad luck like other chain letters)...
The rules are that once you are tagged, you are supposed to write a note with 25 random things, facts, habits or goals about yourself. At the end, choose 25 people to tag. You have to tag the person that tagged you.
Hmm, 25 things...what to tell, what to tell.
1) I have a thing about flipping coins when pondering what I want to do. It's a nervous superstitious habit, or perhaps it's OCD.
2) I also believe in Fate, although Fate has occasionally given me the very rough end of a broomstick. Perhaps I have someone else's karma?
3) Can't watch any of the old Rudolph/Santa stop-motion animated shows, especially the one about the island of orphaned toys. I get vaklemt, go figure.
4) I once saw a bicyclist plow into the side of a car driven by two old ladies. I laughed, inwardly. (Don't worry, the car got the worst of it.)
5) I'd like to learn at least one other language, but despite the extra time I have I find it hard to concentrate. Maybe a not-so-bad-looking exchange student would trade lessons in her language for my whoppinastic mastery of English?
6) In my youth I used to write freelance articles for a hobby magazine related to Dungeons & Dragons. Yep, talk about geek cred.
7) I'm the 7th of 7 children. I thought my lucky number was 7 even before I knew we had a third brother.
8) At one point, long ago, there were 23 cats living in and around my house. Now there's only 9.
9) Oh, and I seem to be a tad allergic to cats. Or perhaps it's the dust. Whatever.
10) When I was 13-14 I went on a health kick. For months I was doing 500 sit-up a day. For 9 days I did 1000 each, straight, because I read that Ahhhhnold (Schwartenegger) did that many.
11) As a tech working at the state capitol I was semi-close to the Gubernator--as close as velvet rope and armed troopers will let you. OK, it was just his office but hey, still impressive looking down that hallway.
12) I love reading about Indian culture, watching Bollywood films, and eating Indian food (although I also enjoy Arab, Thai, etc., as well). I want to see the Taj Mahol before they decide to close it off to tourists.
13) I plan on getting married and settling down within two years. Let's see what Life throws at me now the gauntlet's been thrown.
14) I have a cobalt-chromium ball and socket in my right hip. Works like a charm. And I thought of covering the scar with a tattoo but it's hard to think of one that won't look lame by the time I'm 60.
15) I plan on getting additional schooling on the side, as time permits. I wonder if colleges still offer a BA in BS, I could use that in business or somesuch.
16) I can go all night...that is, I have insomnia. (Bet you thought something else, didn't ya?)
17) I believe it doesn't take much to make a person go bad, all they have to do is lose faith in someone or something important in their life.
18) There's a megaladon shark's tooth and what could be a fossilized animal's claw print in my bedroom. I also keep a chunk of polished malachite and a few other mineral doodads lying about. (Not so much into knick-knacks these days.)
19) Love sci-fi/fantasy shows. I think the Sci Fi Channel execs were pricks for not renewing The Dresden Files.
20) I can't pick comfy furniture to save my life. The mattress on my bed is so hard it makes my heels hurt. How the Hell did that happen?!?
21) I've been to several places overseas in my lifetime. I even went to Slovenia to see a friend, but she didn't meet me at the airport and I had to spend 6+ days on my own tracking her down to find out why. (She chickened out and was blind stinking drunk by the time I found her.)
22) I'm a realist but continue to have dreams. Without vision there's no life. Shared visions are best.
23) I like Justin Timberlake's music. Not even Abba is a complete 'suck'. But anything by Bread and The Carpenters (what I call 70's wuss rock) will make me go slightly psychotic.
24) I can't dance. Not even a gun will get my feet moving in front of living witnesses. I once almost started boogying to Chaka Khan's "I Feel For You" in a department store a longggg time ago but stopped myself just in time. Wow, what a close call!
25) I love my car, even if she's a little old and cracked like me.
