... 25 THINGS ABOUT ME.... SILVI SANTOSO ... Part 2
Yes, these are 25 things about me (from my point of view, dont forget that)... I want to share these with you so you know more about me. Hopefully you will let me know more about yourself.
1. I am naturally a very caring and loving person.
2. Challenge is something that motivates me. Anytime someone said I can’t do something, it would be something I want to do. The strong will and stubbornness I possess usually help me to achieve what I want. To get a scholarship to study abroad and to live in Canada permanently were some of them
3. I have developed my bucket list, a list of things I want to do before I die. I plan to complete the list together with Evelyn. We also plan to do some of them together, such as jumping from a plane (of course, with a parachute for each of us…). I love traveling and wish to go to Africa, India and Europe too…
4. I have a great fondness for studying. I am willing to do a doctorate degree later on, maybe when my kids are a bit older. To tell you the truth, I prefer studying to working
5. When I was in the elementary school, I won a second place for a municipal painting competition. Since then I have not really put a lot of emphasis on this talent of mine. Just recently I started to paint again. My conclusion, I do enjoy painting
6. I am a very independent woman. I was raised to take care of myself and be responsible for my siblings. No chance to whine and always strive to do everything myself to show the strength. It is difficult for me to ask for help or even accept other’s assistance in anything.
7. I believe I have a lot of good luck ;) I always get what I want somehow, at some point …
8. I love animals. I have had pets since I was a kid; from rabbit, chicken, hen, fish, parrot, beo, cats and dogs… I have two dogs at home now, Champ (a 3yo male pug) and Snowball (an eskimo-poo puppy). Both dogs love me so so so much
9. I am an expert in the kitchen. Nothing more to say; you will never be hungry if I’m around (that explain why my friends like to go camping with me)
10. I moved to Canada in 2001 and haven’t been back to my home country since then. I miss my sister and brother, families and also friends there. It is nice that I can get reconnected with some of my old friends here in Face book
11. I am learning to dance salsa. I learned Indonesian traditional and modern dance since I was a kid (thanks to my mom). I performed a Dayak dance on stage when I was in Australia (1995), which was my last performance.I am good at singing. I have been in church choir since I was a kid. I play a bit of piano, flute (learning together with my kid) and soon violin (since I have to learn it together with my little one).
12. I am a certified “Advance Open Water” diver (PADI)
13. I like to hug, kiss and cuddle… And I am good at those, lol ;)
14. I am lactose intolerant, but I love ice cream so I don’t care too much about the impact afterward. My favourite is ice cream on pancake topped with fruit, yummy…
15. I learned to do crochet when I was in junior high school. Since then I have made lots of blankets, scarves and hats. This year I made a set of scarf and hat for each of my kids and my mom. This is one of my favourite activities that I do while I am learning to relax and enjoy my own self company
16. I bake homemade birthday cakes for each of my kids’ birthday each year.
17. I believe that I will find my soul mate
18. I like to d o activities with kids and am happy when I see the children smiles
19. I just realised that I have the ability to be flirtatious. Apparently there is a side of me (maybe wild) to be discovered and explored, sooner or later…;)
20. I am learning to accept myself as a human, with all my strength and weaknesses, and to love myself more.
21. I have a great, witty, quick sense of humour. My friends told me that there will never be a dull moment with me around…
22. One of my dreams is joining the Navy Reserved Unit. I am getting there, need to pass the push up test…. Uh…
23. My major is in food science and I have been working in food related companies ever since I graduated. I worked as a QC and QA technician, Plant Manager, and now…. as an Inspector. I’m quite idealist, so my last job fits me well
24. I am very compassionate. I have to learn to set my own boundaries to protect myself of getting upset and hurt.
25. I didn’t regret of anything that has happened in my life. I made some mistakes and wrong decisions but at least I was able to be responsible of my part and learned from it. I forgave myself, which was the most important thing I did.
UnHappiness is JUST a Thought courtesy by Byron Katie
The only thing that can keep you from being happy is a thought.
What a revolutionary truth that is! The kind of thought that interferes with happiness the most is a thought of lack, which is at the basis of all desire. If you didn’t think something was missing or lacking about you, someone else, your situation, or life, you wouldn’t be unhappy. Unhappiness is the belief that something is missing that you need in order to be happy. It is this belief that makes you unhappy—not the fact that something is or isn’t here right now.
The ego, which produces most thoughts (except functional ones), produces thoughts of lack. These turn into a desire (which is the thought “I want”), the desire is fed by more thoughts about what getting that or not getting that will mean, feelings (like fear) arise about that, and action is taken to try to fulfill the desire and waylay any fears. When desires are pumped up this way, they seem very real and important. We really believe we need what we desire to be happy or safe. This sense of lack makes the world go around, often in a not-so-happy way, but this brings us the lessons and experiences we need to evolve. This sense of lack is also the cause of suffering, and this suffering is totally unnecessary.
What do you believe is missing now? Take a moment to answer this question. This is the source of your suffering. What if you didn’t believe you needed this to be happy or safe or secure? Without this belief, you drop into essence, which experiences life as a blessing—and as trustworthy. Essence trusts—and knows—that life provides what we need, although not always what the ego wants. It would be impossible to provide everyone with what their egos want. What would a world like that look like? The Intelligence that we are provides each of us with what is necessary for the Whole to evolve and expand.
If we look with essence’s eyes, we can see how beautifully life has provided for us, even when it has brought challenges. Along with every challenge, life brings us opportunities, resources, and helpers. Do you notice the grace, the goodness, the support that life offers and has offered? The egoic mind doesn’t. It only notices lack because that is what it is about. It’s about creating problems and discontentment so that you stay involved with it. The egoic mind is the central challenge in life that we are meant to overcome. We are meant to see that the egoic mind, which we are programmed to trust, is untrustworthy and the source of unhappiness.
We don’t attain happiness by striving for what the ego wants. Striving is painful, and achieving what you want brings only fleeting happiness before discontentment sets in once again. No one has yet to attain happiness because happiness is a state—our natural state. And this state is discovered, not attained, by moving beyond the egoic mind—by seeing through it to the Truth. Who you really are is alive here and now. It is living your life, and the ego just pretends to be you. When you drop out of the egoic mind—or step back from it—you discover that the only thing that has ever caused you to feel unhappy is a thought. What a blessing to discover this because thoughts are just thoughts—they can be ignored, and we have the power to do that. We are powerful—not victims of life but creators, or co-creators, with the One Intelligence that we are. If you stop paying attention to thoughts, you discover the happiness that is here and has always been here.

Haiti's rising food prices drive poor to eat mud
Impoverished Haitians are increasingly resorting to eating biscuits made of mud as food prices soar in the Caribbean country.
The discs are made from dried yellow clay mixed with water, salt and vegetable shortening or margarine.
The mud, which comes from Haiti's central plateau region, is first strained and then shaped into biscuits which are left in the sun.
The pale brown biscuits, known by locals simply as "terre", have traditionally been eaten by pregnant Haitians and children as an antacid and source of calcium.
However, for some Haitians unable to afford even a plate of rice, terre has become their staple diet.
The Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations has expressed concern over food prices in the Caribbean, recently declaring a state of emergency in Haiti and several other countries.
The agency estimates prices have rocketed by as much as 40 per cent due to floods and crop damage caused by the 2007 hurricane season.
At the market in Haiti's La Salines slum, two cups of rice now sell for 60 US cents, up 10 cents since December and 50 per cent from a year ago.
Beans, condensed milk and fruit have gone up at a similar rate. Even the price of the clay used in the biscuits has increased considerably though, at five cents each, they are still relatively cheap.
The biscuits reportedly taste smooth but suck out the moisture from the mouth as soon as they touch the tongue, leaving an unpleasant earthy aftertaste which lingers for hours.
Gerald Callahan, an immunology professor at Colorado State University who has studied geophagy, the scientific name for dirt-eating, said mud can contain dangerous parasits or toxins. But it can also strengthen the immunity of unborn babies to certain diseases, he said.
Haiti is the poorest country in the western hemisphere. Seventy-six per cent of the population lives on less than $2.25 a day.
Malnutrition is widespread and diarrhoea kills one in five children under the age of five.
Haitian doctors say that people who depend on the biscuits for sustenance risk malnutrition.
Dr Gabriel Thimothee, executive director of Haiti's health ministry, said: "Trust me, if I see someone eating those cookies, I will discourage it."

A ThoughT
A thought can be your strength or your weakness, can be your weapon or your defect. When a thought is put into use, can bring you good or bad.
A thought can be your enlightenment or your burden as you wish or realize. When you think of a thought, it may or may not altered by any or many reason which resulting differently afterward.
A thought can come from nothing or from everything that happened of in or out of your life and may effect your or others life accordingly. A thought result a decision that will produce an action, so take good care of that THOUGHT, because you will have to bear the DECISION made afterward and carry on the ACTION and live with the CONSEQUENCES later.
Just a thought to be shared...

Social Networking - National atau International ???
Sayang Trafiknya kesedot ke Luar negeri semua..
Kita Untung Bangsa gak Untung!
Oh ya apa perlu kita-kita bikin kampanye : Cintailah Website Dalam Negeri!
Seperti sebelumnya kita kampanyekan : Cintailah Produk dalam Negeri?
Apa pendapat anda tentang tulisan diatas?

25 Things About Me by Chris Perry ... Part 1
Since this can be amusing (and wasn't sent with an implied threat of bad luck like other chain letters)...
The rules are that once you are tagged, you are supposed to write a note with 25 random things, facts, habits or goals about yourself. At the end, choose 25 people to tag. You have to tag the person that tagged you.
Hmm, 25 things...what to tell, what to tell.
1) I have a thing about flipping coins when pondering what I want to do. It's a nervous superstitious habit, or perhaps it's OCD.
2) I also believe in Fate, although Fate has occasionally given me the very rough end of a broomstick. Perhaps I have someone else's karma?
3) Can't watch any of the old Rudolph/Santa stop-motion animated shows, especially the one about the island of orphaned toys. I get vaklemt, go figure.
4) I once saw a bicyclist plow into the side of a car driven by two old ladies. I laughed, inwardly. (Don't worry, the car got the worst of it.)
5) I'd like to learn at least one other language, but despite the extra time I have I find it hard to concentrate. Maybe a not-so-bad-looking exchange student would trade lessons in her language for my whoppinastic mastery of English?
6) In my youth I used to write freelance articles for a hobby magazine related to Dungeons & Dragons. Yep, talk about geek cred.
7) I'm the 7th of 7 children. I thought my lucky number was 7 even before I knew we had a third brother.
8) At one point, long ago, there were 23 cats living in and around my house. Now there's only 9.
9) Oh, and I seem to be a tad allergic to cats. Or perhaps it's the dust. Whatever.
10) When I was 13-14 I went on a health kick. For months I was doing 500 sit-up a day. For 9 days I did 1000 each, straight, because I read that Ahhhhnold (Schwartenegger) did that many.
11) As a tech working at the state capitol I was semi-close to the Gubernator--as close as velvet rope and armed troopers will let you. OK, it was just his office but hey, still impressive looking down that hallway.
12) I love reading about Indian culture, watching Bollywood films, and eating Indian food (although I also enjoy Arab, Thai, etc., as well). I want to see the Taj Mahol before they decide to close it off to tourists.
13) I plan on getting married and settling down within two years. Let's see what Life throws at me now the gauntlet's been thrown.
14) I have a cobalt-chromium ball and socket in my right hip. Works like a charm. And I thought of covering the scar with a tattoo but it's hard to think of one that won't look lame by the time I'm 60.
15) I plan on getting additional schooling on the side, as time permits. I wonder if colleges still offer a BA in BS, I could use that in business or somesuch.
16) I can go all night...that is, I have insomnia. (Bet you thought something else, didn't ya?)
17) I believe it doesn't take much to make a person go bad, all they have to do is lose faith in someone or something important in their life.
18) There's a megaladon shark's tooth and what could be a fossilized animal's claw print in my bedroom. I also keep a chunk of polished malachite and a few other mineral doodads lying about. (Not so much into knick-knacks these days.)
19) Love sci-fi/fantasy shows. I think the Sci Fi Channel execs were pricks for not renewing The Dresden Files.
20) I can't pick comfy furniture to save my life. The mattress on my bed is so hard it makes my heels hurt. How the Hell did that happen?!?
21) I've been to several places overseas in my lifetime. I even went to Slovenia to see a friend, but she didn't meet me at the airport and I had to spend 6+ days on my own tracking her down to find out why. (She chickened out and was blind stinking drunk by the time I found her.)
22) I'm a realist but continue to have dreams. Without vision there's no life. Shared visions are best.
23) I like Justin Timberlake's music. Not even Abba is a complete 'suck'. But anything by Bread and The Carpenters (what I call 70's wuss rock) will make me go slightly psychotic.
24) I can't dance. Not even a gun will get my feet moving in front of living witnesses. I once almost started boogying to Chaka Khan's "I Feel For You" in a department store a longggg time ago but stopped myself just in time. Wow, what a close call!
25) I love my car, even if she's a little old and cracked like me.
